Tenth Month of Phase 1 Barista FIRE

This post is just for personal reference, to record my personal income and expenses in my journey towards Barista FIRE.

For the month of October, it was another simple month for me.  Simple life, simple expenses.  Just last month, occasional spending spiked because I have exchanged some funds to MYR in preparation for the annual insurance premiums I need to pay for at the end of the year.  This month, occasional spending is also higher due to repair of leaking shower tap.  I suppose that is where emergency funds came into the picture to serve its purpose.

In addition, miscellaneous spending is also higher to book for a theatre show via Trip for my trip to China this coming month.  Definitely looking forward to it, despite some anxiety in the logistics matters as my aunt and cousin is coming along.  Nonetheless, I believe all will be chill and smooth, as this is just going to be a relaxing trip.

All in all, after 10 months of phase 1 Barista FIRE, I think I am doing fine balancing income and expenses.  So far I have not incurred any deficit, and I hope this will hold true till the end of the year.  November also marks the end of O Levels and the start of A Levels, and it is definitely time for me to start seeking for more students through agencies.  So far, it has been slow, and my projections for part time active income for 2027 is still insufficient.  Hopefully I can get a few more students in the coming months, so that my second year of phase 1 Barista FIRE can proceed as planned.  Barista FIRE, here I come...!
